چکیده
Plant biodiversity is an important feature of grassland ecosystems, as it related to the provision many ecosystem services crucial for human economy and well-being. Given importance grasslands, research has been carried out in recent years on potential monitor them with novel remote sensing techniques. In this study, optical diversity (also called spectral diversity) approach was adopted check using high-resolution hyperspectral images estimate ?-diversity ecosystems. 2018 2019, species composition surveyed canopy data were acquired at two sites: Monte Bondone (IT-MBo; species-rich semi-natural grasslands) experimental farm University Padova, Legnaro, Padua, Italy (IT-PD; artificially established plots a species-poor mixture). The relationship between (species richness, Shannon’s, evenness, Simpson’s indices) metrics (coefficient variation-CV standard deviation-SD) not consistent across investigated plant communities. Species richness could be estimated by R = 0.87 IT-PD site. more complex grasslands IT-MBo, estimation indices difficult failed accurately probably due higher number strong spatial heterogeneity. Therefore, results study confirmed ability proxies detect man-made ecosystems but highlighted limitations when natural are observed. Nevertheless, metric SD calculated from post-processed transformed spectra showed, red part spectrum, significant correlation (up 0.56, p 0.004) indices. Spatial resampling that sward optimal pixel size 1 cm, while IT-MBo mm. random extraction did improve performance both sites. Further needed fully understand links biochemical heterogeneity heterogeneous assess whether can scale ?-diversity. Such insights will provide robust information mechanisms linking

Airborne Hyperspectral Data Predict Fine-Scale Plant Species Diversity in Grazed Dry Grasslands
Semi-natural grasslands with grazing management are characterized by high fine-scale species richness and have a high conservation value. The fact that fine-scale surveys of grassland plant communities are time-consuming may limit the spatial extent of ground-based diversity surveys. Remote sensing tools have the potential to support field-based sampling and, if remote sensing data are able to ...
متن کاملCompression of hyperspectral imagery via linear prediction
(Motta et al., 2003) proposed a Locally Optimal Vector Quantizer (LPVQ) for lossless encoding of hyperspectral data, in particular, Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer (AVIRIS) images. In this paper we first show how it is possible to improve the baseline LPVQ algorithm via linear prediction techniques, band reordering and least squares optimization. Then, we use this knowledge to de...
متن کاملPotential and Limitations of Highresolution Satellite Imagery
The issue of commercial highresolution satellite images has found much interest lately within the remote sensing and geoinformation communities. Performance predictions and business expectations have come close to revolutionary changes in the geoinformation industry. Several missions have been planned but only one system made it successfully into orbit. Since the costs of images are high, only ...
متن کاملPrediction Accuracy of Color Imagery from Hyperspectral Imagery
In this paper we present the utilization of high-spectral resolution imagery for improving low-spectral resolution imagery. In our analysis, we assume that an acquisition of high spectral resolution images provides more accurate spectral predictions of low spectral resolution images than a direct acquisition of low spectral resolution images. We illustrate the advantages by focusing on a specif...
متن کاملsimulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water
abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...
